The Curriculum and Life Skills

Children with special needs follow the Early Years Foundation Stage and National Curriculum, at an age/developmentally appropriate level.  Activities are adapted to meet children’s needs and or abilities; this is called differentiation.  Small group or individual intervention using well-structured literacy/numeracy programmes can be provided.  In the Foundation Stage, targets are set which build on the child’s strengths through play.  Children can be assessed for assistive technology by the Advisory Teacher if their needs require it.
