Planning in EYFS
Teaching and Learning in EYFS follows a ‘Response Planning’ method, informed by the children’s own interests and fascinations. Children are viewed as unique individuals and Teachers and Teaching Assistants spend time finding out about each child’s emotional needs, interests and passions, fears and concerns, favoured learning styles, skills and previous experiences. The learning environment and teaching activities are then designed to capture the imagination of every child, in order to meet their own specific learning needs. We do not plan ‘topics’, instead we respond to children on a daily basis, often planning new activities with the children.
